Guido Tschugg
Test Rider , Technical Advisor, Good friend.
Guido Tschugg:
Champion. Pioneer. Racer.
Guido is one of the most well-known mountain bikers in Germany. Since 1997, his life has revolved around two-wheel sports, and in 2000, he transitioned to the professional arena. He was a 4-time German Dual Champion, 6-time German 4Cross Champion, and won bronze at the World Championships. To date, he remains the only German ever invited to the toughest freeride race in the world, the legendary Red Bull Rampage.
And Guido, as one of the first, recognized the great potential of E-MTBs. Since 2012, he has been training on e-bikes, and from 2015, he competed as a professional athlete in the ePerformance sector – the first active mountain biker to do so. When Guido isn't riding E-MTBs himself, the German takes care of young aspiring riders, builds new bike parks and trails, or organizes his own bike events.
ePerformance 2.0
A new era.
The world champion and renowned E-MTB pioneer Guido Tschugg is joining HEPHA. Here, he will not only be active as a rider and testimonial but, most importantly, will serve as a test rider and advisor for the new HEPHA Performance E-MTBs and the powerful HEPHA P101 drive. On this page, we would like to introduce you to the amiable Racer!
Why HEPHA?
"I'm accustomed to surprising my surroundings – let's just say that. I was the first professional MTB rider who willingly switched to E-MTB – and faced quite the Shitstorm for it. Nowadays, the scene is full of it. I've been waiting for years for a hungry, ambitious brand with potential, still malleable and eager. A brand that doesn't just handle bikes but also has control over the drive. HEPHA is precisely that brand. With our own drive, we finally have all the levers in our hands. This gives us countless options to bring perfectly tuned bikes to the market. Tapping into this potential is a unique opportunity."
What exactly do you do at HEPHA?
The core of my role at HEPHA is to provide development teams with feedback for the continual improvement of products through intensive test rides. This includes testing and fine-tuning the kinematics, i.e., the suspension, as well as providing feedback on the geometry and specifications of the bikes. In the propulsion sector, it's mainly about tuning the motor control – finding the perfect balance between dynamism, control, and efficiency. We will distinguish between serial tuning and race use. Additionally, there are active advisory areas for new product ideas, propulsion units, or inputs for racing formats.
