Guido Tschugg joins HEPHA as Test Rider and Technical Advisor
World champion, World Cup winner and e-MTB pioneer Guido Tschugg is taking his career to the next level. For the first time, in addition to his activities as a rider and testimonial, he will primarily be driving forward the development of the E-MTB division and the drive system. The up-and-coming e-bike brand from Maisach near Munich will soon be presenting its first off-road collection.
The well-known e-MTB pioneer Guido Tschugg has been riding for HEPHA since January 2024. In contrast to his previous involvement in the E-MTB sector, he will be taking on a much stronger role on the development side for the first time, in addition to brand and product promotion.
In focus: bike and drive
"His years of experience as an athlete in international racing are invaluable to us," says Alex Thusbass, Managing Director at HEPHA. "And that's why he will be supporting us as a technical advisor and test rider. This means that he will help set up special test programs and will be closely involved in the further development of our products." His feedback can be used to optimize the areas of kinematics, geometries and specifications in line with the target group. The in-house drive also opens up a new playing field in terms of tuning. Because the new P100 has it all: up to 100 Nm of torque at just 2.8 kg. This makes it one of the most efficient motors on the market. HEPHA also offers battery options of up to 804 Wh and a 6 A fast charger as well as numerous other smart features. The mid-motor is positioned at the upper end of the classic performance range. However, the Light Performance segment will also be covered by HEPHA's own products in the near future.

"I'm looking forward to the new challenge, especially because I'll be taking on an active role in development for the first time. Optimizing E-MTBs in terms of performance is an incredibly exciting field with endless possibilities. The fact that we can also actively involve the drivetrain offers us endless options for bringing perfectly tuned products to the market. This is exactly what the ePerformance segment is all about - exploiting this potential is a real opportunity," says Guido Tschugg. In addition to standard products, there will also be special Guido Tschugg signature e-bikes and accessories. "Here I have a completely free hand to realize my ideas and visions." Visitors will get a first impression at Eurobike 2024.
HEPHA Performance
HEPHA is currently building up its development team specifically for the performance sector. There will also be collabs with well-known names and partners from the industry. Over the years, EMTB pioneer Alex Thusbass has built up a large international network. Over a decade ago, he turned on the engine and established the first successful EMTB on the market with the XDURO. In doing so, he paved the way for sporty e-bikes and triggered a unique mobility boom. "Guido and I know each other from our time together at Haibike, where we were instrumental in defining and establishing the term ePerformance. Even back then, we discussed a lot about the fact that the drive is a central starting point for development," explains Alex Thusbass. "For us, there is no better way to prove the performance of the bike and drive unit than in races in direct comparison with the competition."
E-MTBs from March
HEPHA launches new E-MTB models just in time for the start of the collaboration with Guido. In addition to the Mountain 7 hardtails, there will also be a carbon all-mountain with 150 mm travel, up to 100 Nm and an 804 Wh battery.
