NEW! HEPHA ErgoAdjust – Adjusting e-bikes has never been easier

ErgoAdjust makes it easy to ergonomically adjust your HEPHA e-bike for the first time – directly on the bike, guided by an app, without any specialist knowledge or tools. Available for free in the HEPHA app for Trekking and City e-bikes.

Why we developed ErgoAdjust for HEPHA e-bikes

If the riding position is not correct, this often results in back pain, numb fingers, or knee problems. This is often because many riders do not take advantage of the ergonomic adjustment options on their e-bikes. Although modern e-bikes offer numerous adjustment options, without instructions or prior knowledge, these are often difficult to understand. Since there is currently no standard procedure or easy-to-understand instructions for finding the optimal seating position, non-experts must rely on competent specialist dealers or consult expensive bike fitting specialists. At the same time, there is also a great deal of uncertainty in the bicycle trade about how to address this central and multifaceted issue in a targeted manner. At the same time, the Alteos Radreport 2025 shows that almost 40% of customers expect their e-bike to be ergonomically correct.

Thanks to ErgoAdjust, anyone can easily adjust their e-bike to fit their body.

The new ErgoAdjust system makes it much easier to adjust e-bikes ergonomically. The aim is to provide both customers and specialist dealers with an easy-to-understand, reliable, and reproducible adjustment tool. This allows everyone to adjust their saddle and cockpit to suit their body measurements and preferences.

System overview: Two key components

The ErgoAdjust system consists of these two matching components:

  • Digital step-by-step instructions with specific settings
  • Components with ErgoAdjust scales directly on the e-bike

The interplay of these factors makes it possible to implement ergonomic settings successfully without the need for special tools or in-depth specialist knowledge.

Setup and settings are digitally guided via the HEPHA app

An extension of the HEPHA app (and other systems in the future) provides users with intuitive step-by-step instructions for perfectly customizing their e-bike. The user enters key body measurements and selects their preferred seating position (from comfortable to sporty). Based on this information, the system automatically determines the optimal ergonomic configuration and provides specific numerical settings for the saddle, stem, etc.

Thanks to the ErgoAdjust scales printed on the components, these values can be easily and quickly transferred to your e-bike – even by non-experts without prior knowledge and without additional measuring equipment.

The ErgoAdjust scales on HEPHA e-bikes

Starting in 2026, all ergonomically relevant and adjustable contact points on HEPHA City and Trekking e-bikes will be systematically equipped with standardized scales. These include:

  • Adjustment scale on seat post
  • Angle scale on adjustable stem
  • Newly introduced scale rings or markings for handlebar and grip angles

In combination with the saved geometry values of the frame and central add-on parts, the app algorithm can translate the user's body data directly into component-specific adjustment values. This makes adjusting the seat height and handlebar position child's play. There is no need for an intermediate step with external measuring tools.

Precision & system openness

Since each ergonomic contact point is assigned a measurable value, all settings can be restored with millimeter precision at any time – or adjusted if problems arise.

Thanks to numerical recording, values can be reliably transferred to the e-bike not only from the ErgoAdjust app, but also from external ergonomics or consulting systems.

Developed in collaboration with ergonomics and bike-fitting experts from gebioMized

To ensure ergonomic quality and provide scientifically based, precise recommendations, the ErgoAdjust system was developed in cooperation with bike fitting professionals at gebioMized. “ErgoAdjust takes bike setup to the next level. The app calculates the optimal settings, which are then sent directly to the bike without any detours. That’s exactly where the improvement should be applied,” says Daniel Schade, CEO of gebioMized.

gebioMized is a German specialist in professional bike fitting, ergonomic consulting, and performance optimization with over 20 years of experience. The company analyzes body measurements, movement patterns, and pressure distribution (e.g., on the saddle, handlebars, and in shoes) to optimally adjust the seating position and contact points to the rider – for greater comfort, fewer complaints, and better performance in professional cycling.

Current Area of Application & Prospects

The ErgoAdjust system is currently used on all HEPHA City and Trekking e-bikes, as e-MTBs and Urban Bikes do not yet have central adjustment options. All trekking and city models (generations 7 and 8) from the 2026 model year will already be delivered with the corresponding components, including adjustment scales. The HEPHA app has just been updated to include the ErgoAdjust feature. Older models can be retrofitted, with the ErgoAdjust kit expected to be available by the end of 2026. An expansion of the system is planned for the 2027 model year, including additional components developed specifically for ErgoAdjust adjustment, in order to transfer the concept to other model categories.

ErgoAdjust Dealer Tool: Web app for quick and easy adjustments in the store

With the ErgoAdjust dealer tool, HEPHA provides its retail partners with a digital bike-fitting system free of charge. The web-based application requires only the customer’s height, inseam, and desired seating position. The e-bike is identified via its barcode, and all model-specific data is automatically retrieved from the HEPHA server.

“With ErgoAdjust, retailers essentially have our biomechanical expertise at their fingertips at all times,” says Daniel Schade, CEO of gebioMized. “The key is that the calculation immediately translates into a specific adjustment on the bike. This transforms bike fitting from a specialized topic into a tool that can be easily integrated into the sales process.”

Use of the tool is free for specialty retailers. No special hardware, software installation, or paid licenses are required. Since ErgoAdjust is entirely web-based, the application can be used on virtually any smartphone, tablet, or computer.

Extensive training is also unnecessary. The process guides sales staff step by step through the necessary inputs and ultimately provides specific adjustment values rather than abstract ergonomic recommendations. This enables even less experienced employees to perform a consistent and well-founded basic ergonomic setup.

The ErgoAdjust system is a standout innovation that earned the prestigious EUROBIKE Gold Award in 2025.
